While there are no scheduled Employ and Empower events today, there are many other available services provided by our agencies.

Class Times: 8:30am - 10:30am & 12:00pm - 2:00pm 

 The Getting It Done computer tutoring program at the ARCH focuses on the real-life needs of Austin’s homeless population. Our professional trainer uses an individualized, student-centered approach to allowing clients to choose the skills they want to learn in order to achieve the goals they set for themselves.

Front Steps is committed to providing a full range of services to support our clients in moving from homelessness to safe, affordable long-term housing. At the ARCH, homeless men and women are able access a number of basic needs services, including showers, hygiene items, clothing, laundry, lockers, phones, mail, and messaging. Front Steps’ Basic Needs services include a Day Resource Center, an Identification Program, a Document Bank, and more.

Clothing Voucher Distribution 9:00-9:30 am

Men’s Support Group 9:30-10:30 am

Meditation & Mindfulness Class 1:00-2:00

Since March of 2010 we added a second day for women only on Tuesday, at which time women are offered financial assistance (see below).

8:45am – Lotteries outside for bus passes and financial assistance
9:00am – Doors open
9:15am – 9:45am – Breakfast and announcements
10:00am – 1:00pm – Financial assistance, computer lab, coffee and fellowship, case management, resource referrals
1:00pm – Doors close

Direct Assistance:

On Tuesdays, financial assistance is offered for IDs, Birth Certificates, and Rx Co-pays. Individuals are eligible once per month for these services. Weekly bus passes are also offered. Individuals are eligble once per week for this service. Our financial assistance, although limited, is aimed at helping our neighbors achieve goals of gaining stability and moving out of homelessness.

8:45am – Lotteries for financial assistance and bus passes.

Shower Program:

Operated by volunteers from St. Mark’s Episcopal church, the Shower Program offers 12 minutes per person for a private shower. Toiletries and towels are provided.
